Vitamin C and Iron Absorption

Vitamin C can enhance your absorption of iron?
Vitamin C has been shown to enhance the absorption of non-heme iron, the type we get from plants, not animal products (the iron we get from animal products is called heme iron, and is absorbed better than non-heme iron).
If you’re iron deficient or feeling run down, you might not be getting enough iron in your diet or not absorbing it well - add some vitamin c, such as lemon juice or orange juice, to your salad or green leafy veg, to enhance your absorption.
